GENEVA READS AT WIC

Twice a month a team of volunteers greets young families at the WIC program at the Presbyterian Church in Geneva, offering them books for their children, written guidance on how to make reading aloud fun, and the inspiration to start a lifelong habit.

Studies have shown that the more words a young child hears from birth, the more success they will have learning to read. Reading builds brain synapses and expands a child's vocabulary, guaranteeing a more rewarding school experience.
